The history of our species inherently being destroyed
By the celerity and severity of technologies we deployed

Long ago, used to post with a pencil and paper
Cartoons of my superhuman brother and his capers
After college experimentation my interest started to taper
Comic artist superstardom visions faded into vapor

Collected all the pages and connected ‘em to a spine
Closed the chapter on the book and then I moved online
webdisaster built by hand as a sandbox for design
To pass across the land art and stories intertwined

Then I find social media sites were starting on the rise
So I tried out trite mafia war games with the guys
But Zuckerberg’s lies mined our data in disguise
Gotta defy the algorithm to get posts in front of eyes

The user base flies started using other sites
Seems like a new one pops up every other frickin’ night
Creative types traditionally have done all right
But with AI here to stay we’re all out prepping for a fight

All of this to say that I dig performing lyrics
But it’s nearly impossible to get anyone to hear it
With an avalanche of content coming out every day
Chances damn near zero to stand out in any way

Intelligence is depressing, ignorance is bliss
And If you never take your shot well then you can’t really miss
Don’t have much to offer I can only advise this:
Line up at the lip of the abyss and take a piss
